Overview
The Snotra is a new Paranid TS available in Albion Prelude. With heavy shielding, a large cargobay and very reasonable speed, it is a highly effective trade ship.
Background
The Snotra was designed to cover the one area the aging Demeter could not fulfil - rapid transportation of high value military grade hardware. Following the latest Paranid design trends inspired by prototype ships such as the Agamemnon and Heavy Nemesis, the Snotra has lost its former basic utilitarian structure in favor of a more elaborate, artistic profile. The core of the ship has not changed greatly, though - the basic cargo compression systems are taken directly out of other transporters and interior decorations have been left at a minimum. Though the Snotra was designed as a military ship, it is available to any trader rich and influential enough to pay for one.
Physical Characteristics
The Snotra is very reminiscent of the standard Paranid Demeter, with armour plating on the cargo boxes and a second bar at the front. There are three turrets visible at the rear of the ship, representing its left, right and back point defense emplacements.
Combat
With good shielding and solid turret coverage, including Ion Disruptor and Energy Bolt Chaingun compatibility, the Snotra is more competent in a fight than many other TS ships, able to fend off weak attackers relatively well. However, its weapon generators are still only TS level, and even EBCs will drain its reserves of power, so it cannot hold off heavier enemies on its own.

Suggested Roles
The Snotra makes an excellent Sector or Universe trader. Its cargo bay is large, but it maintains a competitive speed among heavy freighters. As with other TS+ ships, it also makes an excellent fleet resupply ship.
